It's been a really busy time since I sat down to write something to y'all. So much water under so many bridges, and I thought it was time you got caught up on recent events.

Firstly, I have left Mojosound and I'm planning to concentrate on music; Teaching it and playing it. So if you know anyone who wants some guitar lessons or help with any aspect of their music, be it hobby or career, get them to drop me a line on 027 7178969. I am working out of my little home studio and lessons are filling up fast. I'm not cheap but I AM expensive....

Secondly I have some shows coming up in the Welly region soon that you might want to check out:

Sunday 2 November - Solo w/Al Witham Bar Bodega, Ghuznee Street, 6pm
Wednesday 5 November - Solo w/Matt HayThe Tin Hut, Tauherenikau, 8pm
Thursday 18 December - The Hotel Bristol, Cuba Street, 8pm

Midge Marsden has been touring NZ with the erstwhile Hammond Gamble recently and he has been including one of the songs off South Pacific Soul in his live set. Thanks Midge!

Work on the new album is going really, really well.... I think I have something pretty exciting on my hands and I can't seem to shortlist the tunes enough, whcih is a good sign? I hope. As ever, thanks to all of you for your love and support! DW

A long time ago Darren told us:

It's been a busy couple of months for me. Things at Mojosound are bowling along nicely... remember to pop in and say hi if you're ever in the 'hood. 166 Cuba Street. (Opposite Slowboat Records)

Early this month I popped up to Auckland recording with Midge Marsden for his new acoustic album for Liberation Records. We had a great time and cut some of the old masters' classic tracks in a 'back porch' setting. Look out for the Australasian release sometime later this year. (And hopefully a tour as well.)

I've also been working on Matt Hay and The Suburbans debut album at Trident Recording and in my humble home studio. I play bass in Matt's band and love his take on alt country.... all with a bluesey edge of course.

Been writing tunes for my new album too. I have over 60 tunes demo'ed and they just keep on coming.... Rumour has it that Auckland popsters Autozamm are planning on recording a new tune of mine on their new album. Should be interesting?

Oh yeah, and I'm turning into a bit of a myspace geek these days..... so drop by anytime (in the online sense) @
