Over the years, NZ Blues has updated a number of news articles, and every so often carefully archived them. Here are a list of links we found for your continued enjoyment.

NZ Music in the 70s

This website lists all sorts of NZ Acts from the 70s including Rick Bryant and the Jive Bombers, and Rick Bryant & Gutbucket. The membership of the band has changed considerably. There is a free Jive Bombers CD to the first person that emails us with the names of the original band members who are still playing 23 years on!

Jubilation Concert

Saturday
June 17 - 8pm 2006

Jubilation Gospel Choir performed a special concert at the Unitarian Church, 1 Ponsonby Road, Auckland on a cold and wet Saturday night to a nearly full house. The Unitarian Church is Jubilation's rehearsal space and worked extremely well as a venue. We got some footage on video - and a few enquries about how the public may be able to obtain video of Jubilation.

Rick Bryant and the Jive Bombers play the London Bar

Rick Bryant and the Jive Bombers did two sets of over 1 hour duration, each. The first set was perhaps a little more familiar legendary Jive Bombers fare. The crowd responded with rousing anthems of applause. The new songs are working well. The second half featured new material and two superb solos by Buzz. Rick paid tribute to Howling Wolf. This was one of those gigs you did not want to miss. It was sad to notice that the main newspaper of this city did not list the event, despite it being an historic one. The Jive Bombers have been making the Blues for the last 23 years. This formation is outstanding. The upcoming CD promises to be a real treat.
