Witness the development of a world class blues and gospel culture in New Zealand. A renaissance in blues music is evident. Hollie Smith was picked up by the Blue Note label, with many weeks at No 1 on the charts with Bathe in the River. NZBlues has followed the career developments of blues singer Rick Bryant. He has been called the biggest voice in soul music and has been producing recordings for the past forty years with a number of bands. Listening to Rick Bryant's CD TIME confirms the reviews. His song writing career has carved a 40 year track through New Zealand musical history. Many current musical styles owe their roots to the origins of Blues music over a hundred years ago, and those traditions continued. New Zealand has some world class players in Rick Bryant, Darren Watson, Hollie Smith, Jubilation, Don McGlashen, Dave Dobbyn and The Windy City Strugglers all writing and playing a very original New Zealand blues and R&B sound track. Perhaps you should add your name to the list by sending NZBlues.com photos and your songs if you make blues music in New Zealand. Blues, soul or funk musicians playing in New Zealand can send material to this site and it will be indexed or featured. Include youtube video clips.

NZBlues features unique and genuine behind the scenes video and original photography plus exclusive clips from gigs. The online video explosion is great, but we are opening a member's only video room. Access is by invitation only, if interested you have to email me and join our mailing list. New policies mean we must ask that you return to the Mailing List page and confirm your OPT IN status.

NZBlues may attend and video a few gigs* - if you think your band/performance should have its own page on NZBlues.com - send me some of your own video links for a start.

We have film, photography and news of gigs to bring you, plus run an opt in mailing list to let you know when an event is coming up.

We let you know in advance so if tickets are available you can get them for these shows that so often sell-out!
