Sanderson on drink driving charge

Blues defender Dion Sanderson has been charged with drink-driving and will appear in court next week.

The club were made aware of the incident last week and decided to strip Sanderson of the captaincy for Saturday’s game against Rotherham United.

It’s unacceptable really. The club did do the right thing here. Ruddy (and maybe sunjic) is a better choice for captain. I think Sanderson struggles with the role. If he just has his game to worry about it might make him a better player. Give it Ruddy for the rest of the season.

It’s definitely made it easy to make that change. Will be interesting to see what happens if he’s found guilty especially as he lost his license recently too. Seems to have a disregard for driving safety despite his previous claims in court. A shame really but at least we know now how we can support him going forward.
